Lightning Pick Exhibiting in Two Booths at ProMat 2011

exhibitor-brochure-promat-2011Major product development in both the classic Lightning Pick Solutions Suite for order fulfillment operations and the introduction of the new Build2Light system for manufacturers has created a lot of breakthrough technologies for Lightning Pick to share at ProMat.

ProMat Booth 4250 will feature the Build2Light demo workstation, a complete pilot system for manufacturers to easily configure quality-enhancing assembly processes from their own Bills of Materials. Booth 4219 will show major developments in Lightning Pick, including the new LP Mobile App and LP Dashboard Version 6.1.

For years Lightning Pick has been a leader in light-directed paperless picking technologies for optimized order fulfillment performance. Today Lightning Pick is the number one sold Pick-to-Light system in North America, leading the industry installing new users and replacing/updating legacy PTL systems. Lightning Pick deployed in hundreds of fulfillment centers, warehouses and distribution centers nationwide has created significant gains in productivity, accuracy and cost efficiency for many market leaders in demanding vertical industries. In recent years Lightning Pick is being adopted by the international community as the proven best-of-breed product to guarantee advanced and reliable performance pick after pick.

Today many make to order, assemble to order, build to order and similar manufacturing operations recognize the positive impact Pick-to-Light can have on their parts picking, kitting, assembly, sequencing and other material handling procedures. The unique process and project requirements from the production side of the supply chain presented challenges. Manufacturers sought pilot systems for Proof of Concept, much smaller installations than distributors typically planned for their fulfillment needs. Most manufacturers wanted a more self-sufficient solution that could be easily be configured, tested, proven and expanded on in-house, most often stand alone from their major MES, MRP, ERP or other host software.

Lightning Pick’s answer is the new Build2Light system. Build2Light is a turnkey light-directed error proofing system, scaled and priced for straightforward pilot system adoption. Build2Light is a great poka yoke device, reducing errors, waste and defects that have major implications on the production line. Please stop by Booth 4250 to see the B2L demo workstation. You can see how the system is configured with an included enabling software, essentially using your Bill of materials to quickly optimize your best practice methodology. Also being shown is the variety of potential applications, from simple kitting to more complex, sequential builds and iterations. Our Visual LCD Display will also be there, showing how additional parts images, assembly instructions or other messages to the operator can enhance quality. On display will be the full family of Lightning Pick’s popular AW, TW and SW Series, fully interoperable and offering a wide spectrum of application specific options.

Booth 4219 will focus on the new Lightning Pick Version 6.1, the most advanced order fulfillment execution software available today. See Version 6.1 manage multiple paperless picking systems like Pick to Light, Put to Light, Pack to Light (aka Put to Light or Put to Store), Voice Picking and RF Picking through the next generation of intuitive user interfaces. Watch real-time data shown on the enhanced LP Dashboard product, a centralized productivity statistics view offering great pick process visibility.

The all-new LP Mobile is also at Booth 4219, a cross-platform mobile Pick to Light app that lets users see Dashboard views and even manage the system from their phones! Change work plans, log employees in or out of the system, check order details and box contents and much more.

We look forward to seeing you at one or perhaps even both of our booths, just a few spaces apart on the same aisle. It’s a great opportunity for people in production and distribution/fulfillment operations experience the simplicity, speed and quality the light-directed method will provide across the entire supply chain.
