Leading edge systems combined with forward-thinking management yield supply chain success.
You can’t go to a supply chain show or conference these days without hearing the word “visibility.” Everyone wants to be able to see what is happening throughout their supply chain, and although one company’s needs are often different from those of another, companies with successful supply chains tend to have several things in common: some form of AIDC input to increase speed and accuracy, open and flexible IT infrastructure and applications, and forward-thinking employees who can recommend and implement new and better processes. Over the past few years, we’ve seen the nominations for our annual Supply Chain Innovator awards get more mature—many times the complex and arduous task of integrating previously isolated units or businesses and their systems is a big part of the story.
