Lightning Pick Featured in STIQ Ltd.’s 2025 Picking Automation Report

STIQ Ltd (styleintelligence.com), a publisher of market industry reports focusing on supply chain technology, robotics, and warehouse automation, has shared their Picking Automation Report for 2025. The report shares the results of STIQ’s international research on various automation solutions for both eaches and cases, including systems such as pick-to-light, RF picking and voice picking.

Mike McManus, Vice President and General manager of Matthews Automation’s Lightning Pick solution group, contributed to the report along with 30 other global stakeholders in companies providing warehouse picking automation and software solutions.

The research indicates that new software integration is still a big concern for companies considering paperless picking systems. According to Mike, “Integration used to be the biggest point of concern for any customer. Our focus over the years has been to change that pain point into a strength. But you’re right, integration continues to be a major focus for any project. Our base software is designed to make that as painless as possible.”

He also shares specifically how Lightning Pick software helps overcome this barrier to adoption. “We have a standard interface, which probably is used 50-60% of the time. We’re capable of the minor modifications – often a custom piece of software – that’s needed the other 50-40% of the time to ensure successful integration with anybody’s host system. It depends on the circumstance and there are usually multiple touch points in any system. You might be talking to a WMS, a WES, moving data up to a labor management system, and so on.”
